The Dinosaur Circus had been syndicated by DBR Media from 2001-2003. It’s the continuing story about a circus performer and the clowns who love her. The main characters are Bitsy, the cute acrobat, Rod, the tall clown and Lester the short, fat clown. In addition, there are various and sundry secondary characters, most notably Spot, Lester’s performing velicoraptor. Wiggie, Lester’s sometimes girlfriend, also appears on a somewhat regular basis. It was a pretty freewheeling strip. Towards the end of its run, as I knew the strip was on borrowed time pending termination, the circus was taken over by Tyrannosaurs who were pretty much neocons and things became very political.
